Artist’s Talk at Paisley Museum and TV interview

Artist’s Talk: Stephen Hurrel

10th March 2018, 2-3:30pm

I will talk about the ideas and motivations behind my live-feed sound and video installation Beneath and Beyond: Seismic Sounds at Paisley Museum and Art Gallery. The exhibition is on Tuesday-Sunday (1st Feb to 15th April).

Description:

This will be an informal talk and exhibition walk-through led by the artist. It will be an opportunity to ask questions and have a discussion around themes such as Art and Technology, Science and Nature, Art and Ecology and Sound as Art.

John Pressly, Observatory Officer and Science Curator at Paisley Museum, will also talk about some historical references to Coats Observatory, namely its role as an early seismic monitoring station, beginning in 1898.
